Here's one of the stranger tie-ups we've seen in recent weeks. How crap is this? Their faces say it all…. they’re just so embarrassed to be doing it.
And what were Holiday Inn thinking? No, it doesn’t make the brand look cool, it merely emphasises the gap between the brand perception (of itself) and what it actually delivers to the customer. It’s not cutting edge, it’s not “down with the kids”, it’s certainly not a destination for fashion conscious youth…. it’s mid-market, family-oriented, functional and comfortable.
This smacks of the marketing department being offered Diversity “on the cheap” and trying to build something out of nothing.
… and how happy will the franchisees be when their hotels are full of kids back-flipping on the beds?
This is serious cheese - really stinky, ill thought out, quick fix solution cheese.
