  • As I said back in May (Faye Ripley/Tesco ) it’s just an indication of a marketing department that’s run out of ideas. With what authority does Robert Lindsay expound on the benefits of Morrisons fresh fish department? I think you could say that Morrisons sales figures are showing significant growth DESPITE the best efforts of the marketing department/agency.

    Come on people, you’ve got the opportunity to do some really interesting, creative, ground breaking advertising. Morrisons have a clear brand image and a strong product offering. We don’t need a second rate celebrity (bought on the cheap) to tell us how fresh the fish is….

    Perhaps the fact that the board is made up of a Group Retail Director (Mark Gunter) and Group Trading Director (Martyn Jones) and group Finance Director (Richard Pennycook) under a Chief Executive (Marc Bolland) tells the story. Not a marketing man in sight! Clearly they don’t see the value of marketing….hence the utterly dire advertising.
