Hot on the heels of erstwhile Liverpool colleague Peter Crouch's viral sellout for T-Mobile comes some bizarre and cheesy internet clips of super striker Fernando Torres advertising dog schools, tennis lessons and hairdresser's in his native Spain.
If you speak Spanish you'll work out the three videos doing the rounds show Torres vouching for friends such as Nacho, who owns the dog training school, and Luis, who gives tennis lessons.
Wow, what a guy, we thought. A superstar with a common touch who is not afraid to abuse his fame to help his mates. Nice one Torres, that's not really selling out is it?
But then after a little look our suspicions were raised by how professionally the videos were shot and then what about all the Nike gear Torres is sporting in the dog school ad?
Problem is, if it is a clever internet stunt for the Swoosh, why's there no branding in the ultra-cheesy hair salon ad (which is the best of the three so here it is)?
Finally we worked out the brand which Torres has indeed sold out for, but it's not world-famous, and it might as well be one of his mates for all it means to us or you. Still, it's an entertaining sellout and kudos to the baby-faced floppy-fringed goal machine for it. At least we know where all his cash is being held.
