The low-down on celebrity marketing news from Brand Republic

erinwassonNo longer do you have to rely solely on Kate Moss 's clothing range at Top Shop to look like a super model, another less famous model has  got in on the act with a range for California-based skate company RVCA. Phew. American super model Erin Wasson, the international face of Maybelline, is launching RVCA at Selfridges, London today claiming every piece from the collection will go into anyone's wardrobe. So get down to Selfridges and pick up one of her floral dresses for £150 or a waistcoat for £200, a little pricier than Top Shop admittedly, and you too can look like a supermodel.  If you happen to be 6ft tall and resemble a rake it kind of helps. Although not in the league of Kate, we salute Texan Erin's diversification from clothes horse to clothes. What do you mean you don't recognise the lovely Erin? Surely you remember her from the countless magazine covers, including French, German, Spanish and Australian Vogue, or from a set of ads she starred in for Justin Timberlake's clothing line William Rast. When Moss launched her range at Topshop in Oxford Street by briefly appearing in the window of the store it caused a media frenzy. She was reportedly paid £3m for the work, which consisted of choosing the designs and modelling them. If Erin is looking for expansion tips she need only check what her more senior colleagues are up to. Naomi Campbell has created seven fragrances under her modestly named Design House of  Naomi Campbell company and Elle MacPherson has her own lingerie collection and a range of beauty products.
